I’ve had my Chillblast PC since 2013. Some upgrades inc.

- graphics card has been upgraded to an Nvidia 1070

- running windows 10

- 16 gbb of DDR3 RAM

- 1 Tb HDD dedicated to MSFS

- Processor is the same - Intel Core i7 4770k overclocked up to 4.5Ghz,

- PSU is the same - Corsair CX 750W 80 Plus

So …. do I upgrade the graphics card only? My only concern is the age of some parts in the machine or look at a new system - would need to be a built pc, not in a position to do a self build.

Any suggestions / guidance would be great.

Many thanks

Personally I’d look at a new PC. You’d more than likely find a deal to be had that would save a lot of hassle upgrading your motherboard / Ram / CPU / GPU.

Thanks Neal - TBH that was probably what I was thinking. It’s just timing the purchase at the right time - May wait until Black Friday / Cyber Monday though.

Not sure if you or any forum readers have suggestions of companies - I’ve looked at Chillblast again but also PC Specialist, along with Scan and Overclockers.

I’ve used Overclockers in the past and rate their service and quality highly. Plus they’ve been going for years, not just fly-by-nights.
Having said that it’s very possible you could get one cheaper elsewhere.
It’s always a compromise unless money is no object but I would focus on CPU & GPU primarily then consider a minimum of 850w power supply, that’ll give you options down the line for future proofing. 🙂

Many thanks - good point re: PSU - hadn’t thought of that. Could be a few months before a purchase is made but will update in due course.
